At the world vaccine conference this month in D.C. (March 29th-31st) there will be a major session dealing with the Zika Virus Vaccine.
With representatives from Sanofi, The Sabin Institute, BARDA, the FDA, and Baylor College of Medicine, this will be a significant opportunity to learn about progress and projected timelines for availability for such a vaccine.
Key to this session will be the “sit down with the FDA,” who will present a regulatory overview of the important considerations associated with the approval of Zika vaccines.
Perhaps this can be used as a template for how to develop a vaccine and obtain approval for an emerging disease? Thoughts?
